Overview
During this 13 night itinerary guests will move through some of Africa's most game rich and exciting regions as well as discovering one of the 7 wonders of the world. Starting with 6 nights in the South Luangwa National Park, the birthplace of the walking safari, guests will split their time between two equally luxurious, yet contrasting camps all while discovering why this park is so revered. Following this guests will head down the Lower Zambezi National Park. This Park's key feature is the vast Zambezi River and the concentration of game this attracts. Guests can experience the Park both on and off the water including, canoe safaris and fishing. Finishing off this itinerary guests will experience the great Victoria Falls.

Welcome to the South Luangwa... The National Park, which is Zambia's premier wildlife destination, lies in large part between the Luangwa River to the east and the Mchinga escarpment in the west. It is home to over 60 species of mammal and almost 450 species of bird. The South Luangwa is regarded as the home of walking safaris, certainly they were common place in this Park long before anywhere else and with the high quality of guiding found at most of the safari operations there are few places better suited to this most exciting way of experiencing the African bush. Night drives are another popular activity offered by all camps giving guests the chance to see nocturnal species that will not be seen by day and of course the early evening hours are best for watching predators hunting. The Valley provides an excellent habitat for leopards leading to higher than usual concentrations, although they are very often seem on night-drives it is not at all uncommon to see them in daylight hours as well. The journey from the airport to Luangwa River Camp is about an hour. Set on the bend of the Luangwa River, Luangwa River camp will be your home for the next few days. This small camp offers seclusion in an otherwise busy central Mfuwe area. The rooms are stylishly designed and the pool overlooks the main river. While at Luangwa River Camp guests will experience cultural interactions with the locals at the school, clinics and villages. If requested, guests can also engage in a dinner with the head of Project Luangwa.

The journey from Luangwa River Camp to Lion camp takes guests up the river banks, where they will see some wonderful game on the drive. On arrival, it will be quickly be realised that Lion Camp’s position is one its strongest features. The camp is set in the quiet northern sector of the park, away from other camps. Recently renovated, the camp shows off its accommodation with canvas walls and thatched roofs, each commanding great views of the flood plains. Game-viewing here is either done on foot or from open safari vehicles.

3 nights at Potato Bush Camp

Welcome to the Lower Zambezi... This National Park lies on the northern bank of the Zambezi River, the Park stretches back through the hills to the north but most of the game is found on the fairly narrow strip of land between the river and the hills. There are a few camps up-stream of the National Park but very few inside the Park itself so visitors never feel overcrowded. One of the features that make it so popular is the variety of activities on offer, with a river that is navigable year-round come waterborne activities such as boating and canoeing to contrast with the usual driving and walking safaris that are also available. This stretch of the mighty Zambezi is also one of the best areas in which to fish for the notorious Tiger Fish, Africa's most exciting freshwater sport fish. When you leave South Luangwa, you will fly via Lusaka to the Lower Zambezi. Potato Bush Camp is set on the bank of the Zambezi River close to the western edge of the National Park and just a 35 minute road and boat transfer away from Jeki Airstrip where you will land. The camp is contemporary with its design, the rooms are built on raised plinths with canvas walls and large windows. The rooms are spacious, each with their own verandas and small plunge pools.

Finally, your trip will finish in the home of the world famous Victoria Falls, Livingstone. After arriving at Livingstone airport, you will embark on a 35 minute road transfer to Sussi & Chuma. Built on a dramatic bend on the Zambezi River, just 12km upstream from Victoria Falls lies Sussi & Chuma. The camp comprises 12 elevated rooms connected by wooden walkways. The rooms are spacious, well designed, air-conditioned and all-round luxurious. The rooms have both a bath, as well as a shower. The large verandas are surrounded by bush – giving you a sense of privacy.
