Join us on a once-in-a-lifetime Rwanda Gorilla safari, where you will get the opportunity to see the diverse natural beauty and illustrious history of this wonderful country. The National Museum at Butare is a great place to start your adventure because it will provide you with unique insights into the cultural legacy of Rwanda. Explore the historic King's Palace in Nyanza, which is steeped in centuries of royal tradition and history.

When you journey into the verdant depths of Nyungwe Forest, you will have the opportunity to participate in exhilarating chimpanzee trekking expeditions and feel the adrenaline of canopy walks amidst the towering trees. By taking a picturesque boat trip across the serene waters of Kibuye, you may take in the amazing splendour of Rwanda's landscapes as you glide across the waterways.

In Volcanoes National Park, however, you will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to track gorgeous mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. This will be the highlight of your safari experience. During your exploration of the park's various habitats, you should keep a sharp lookout for golden monkeys and other primates.

Itinerary

This Rwanda Gortilla safari will provide you with the opportunity to visit the National Museum at Butare and the ancient King's Palace at Nyanza. You will also go chimpanzee trekking and enjoy canopy walks in the Nyungwe Forest, a boat ride in the Kibuye, mountain Gorillas tracking, golden monkeys in the Volcanoes National Park and other primates in Rwanda.

Day 1: Arrival Kigali International Airport

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kigali for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Kigali - Nyungwe Forest National Park

Depart for Nyungwe National park via Butare visiting enroute, the famous National Museum at Butare and the ancient King's Palace at Nyanza. Thereafter continue to Nyungwe National Park arriving for your dinner and overnight stay at your Hotel on Full board.

Day 3: Nyungwe Forest National Park

After your breakfast, go for chimpanzee trekking also spotting other monkeys in the tropical rain forest. After lunch, go for a canopy walk which sits 50 meters above the ground with a 150-meter walkway and is known as the first of its kind in East Africa and third on the continent after South Africa and Ghana. These canopy walks allow visitors to see the forest from above the trees and to be at eye level with the birds and monkeys that inhabit the upper storey’s of the forest. Later return to your hotel/lodge for dinner and your overnight stay on Full board.

Day 4: Nyungwe Forest National Park- Lake Kivu (Kibuye)

After breakfast, you will depart for Kibuye, which lies at the eastern tip of Lake Kivu. Kibuye is often hailed as the most impressive scenic spot of the lake. Have lunch at the shore of the Lake Kivu and afterward take a boat trip to the island of Amahoro Napoleon’s Island. Enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 5: Kibuye Volcanoes National Park

After your breakfast, we shall depart for Volcanoes National Park. If time allows, visit the twin lakes of Bulera & Ruhondo- These are beautiful lakes located at the base of volcano Muhabura and close to the border with Uganda. They are surrounded by steep hills with a backdrop of the Virunga Volcanic Mountains. Enjoy dinner and your overnight at your hotel on Full board.

Day 6: Volcanoes National park

After your breakfast, you will proceed to the national park headquarters. Meeting with the park ranger and followed by park formalities, you will embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. The trekking may be fairly strenuous; up to six hours or longer at a relatively high altitude. For your own enjoyment, physical fitness with no health complication is required. Enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at your hotel on Full board.

Day7: Volcanoes National park

Today you will proceed to the national park headquarters for Golden Monkey tracking in the Volcanoes National Park. Later, return to your hotel to freshen up and if time allows, visit the local market and community. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at your hotel on Full board.

Day 8: Volcanoes National park Kigali

After breakfast transfer to Kigali International airport for your flight home.
