Overview
Embark on an unforgettable journey at the Cikananga Wildlife Rescue Center (CWRC) in Java, Indonesia, where you can volunteer for 2 weeks to 3 months, contributing to the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of endangered wildlife. This unique experience allows you to work alongside Indonesian experts, caring for a wide range of species such as orangutans, gibbons, eagles, and crocodiles.
Your daily activities include preparing food, cleaning enclosures, creating enrichment tools, and observing animal behavior. You'll also have the chance to assist with medical procedures, large team projects, and emergency rescue operations. On your days off, explore Javas stunning natural beauty, from bat caves and waterfalls to local tea plantations.

- Arrival at the conservation center in West Java.
- Welcome session with a briefing on the project and safety regulations.
- Read through the volunteer handbook, watch an informational video, and sign the volunteer contract.
- Settle into your accommodation and enjoy an evening meal with fellow volunteers and staff.
- 07:00-09:00: Introduction to animal care (food preparation and enclosure cleaning).
- 09:00-11:30: Observe animal behavior with guidance from staff.
- 11:30-13:00: Lunch break.
- 13:00-16:00: Participate in team activities, such as enrichment preparation for the animals.
- 07:00-09:00: Daily animal care duties (feeding, cleaning).
- 09:00-11:30: Assist in enrichment preparation for the animals.
- 11:30-13:00: Lunch break.
- 13:00-16:00: Participate in observation sessions, focusing on animal behavior.
- 07:00-09:00: Participate in group projects (e.g., repairing enclosures or grounds).

- 13:00-16:00: Continue teamwork projects with fellow staff and volunteers.

- Take a day trip our to explore the local area
- Explore Sukabumi town center for shopping and relaxation.
- 07:00-09:00: Return to regular animal care duties (feeding and enclosure cleaning).
- 09:00-11:30: Assist with enrichment activities.
- 11:30-13:00: Lunch break.
- 13:00-16:00: Animal behavior observation.
- 07:00-09:00: Daily care of animals (food prep, cleaning).
- 09:00-11:30: Observe or assist with medical procedures in the clinic (if available).
- 11:30-13:00: Lunch break.
- 13:00-16:00: Assist in enrichment tasks or participate in research projects.
- 07:00-09:00: Continue with larger team projects within the center.
- 09:00-11:30: Contribute to the development of enrichment tools for animals.
- 11:30-13:00: Lunch break.
- 13:00-16:00: Participate in animal behavior research and observations.
- 07:00-09:00: Routine care and feeding.
- 09:00-11:30: Participate in any confiscation efforts (if available).
- 11:30-13:00: Lunch break.
- 13:00-16:00: Work on special projects or assist in the clinic.
- 07:00-09:00: Final day of animal care and enclosure cleaning.
- 09:00-11:30: Conduct final animal behavior observations.
- 11:30-13:00: Lunch break.
- 13:00-16:00: Review the progress made during the two weeks with staff and fellow volunteers.
- Free day to rest or enjoy one last trip to a waterfall or Sukabumi town.
- Option to explore the nearby tea plantations or take part in local cooking lessons.
- Departure from the center (if two weeks is the total volunteering period).
